Paolo Gentiloni

Paolo Gentiloni has been the Italian Prime Minister since the 12th December 2016. He was first elected as a Member of Parliament in the 2001 Italian general election and then, in 2002, was a founding member of The Daisy party. He remained the party’s communications spokesperson for five years. From 2005 – 2006, Gentiloni was chair of the Board of Supervisors for Rai. From 2006 until 2008 he served in Romano Prodi’s government as the Minister of Communications. Finally, Gentiloni was Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation from 31 October 2014 until President Sergio Mattarella asked him to form a government at the end of last year.
