Nadia Urbinati is Kyriakos Tsakopoulos Professor of Political Theory in the Department of Political Science at Columbia University. She earned her degree at the University of Bologna and her PhD. at the EUI. She is presently Visiting Professor of Bocconi University. She specializes in democratic and anti-democratic theory, modern and contemporary political thought. She received the Lenfest Distinguished Columbia Faculty Award and was nominated Commendatore of the Italian Republic by the President of the Italian Republic. She is the author of book chapters and articles in accredited journals and of several books, among others, The Tyranny of the Moderns and Democracy Disfigured: Opinion, Truth and the People.
