Gus Hosein is Executive Director of Privacy International. He has worked at the intersection of technology and human rights for over fifteen years. As an advisor to civil society and international institutions, he has developed expertise on the interplay of technology and anti-terrorism policy, identity policy, development, and surveillance. He was previously a Visiting Senior Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He has a PhD from the University of London and a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo.
