Alberto Pietro Contaretti

Alberto Pietro Contaretti is Programme Officer for EU Policies within the unit Innovation and Industry for Security of the Migration and Home Affairs DG at the European Commission. Before, he was Head of the Major Events Security Programme of the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute, where he was responsible for projects promoting, among others, international cooperation in the domains of public security and fight against violent extremism. He graduated in International and Diplomatic Sciences at the University of Turin and holds a MA in Criminology.

Danuta Hübner

Danuta Hübner is a member of the European Parliament, where she chairs the Committee on Constitutional Affairs. In 2004 she was entrusted as European Commissioner with the Regional Policy portfolio, a position she held until July 2009. Previously, Professor Hübner held various roles in Poland’s Government, such as Minister for European Affairs and Minister Head of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland, and in 2000-2001 was Under-Secretary-General of the UN and Executive Secretary at the UN Economic Commission for Europe. Professor Hübner is one of Poland’s foremost economists and policymakers and has played a key role in the enlargement of the EU.

Alexis Tsipras

Alexis Tsipras was elected as Prime Minister of Greece in January 2015. In December 2013 he was nominated as a candidate for the Presidency of the European Commission and was also elected Vice President of the European Left Party for the second term, after his first election in 2010. In 2009 he was elected Member of the Greek Parliament and became Chairman of the parliamentary group of SYRIZA, of which he was elected president in 2010.
