Weiqing Song

Weiqing Song is Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Macau and member of the Management Committee of the European Union Academic Programme in Macao. Professor Song’s research focuses on Chinese and European foreign policy, discourse analysis in international relations, and Chinese politics with a focus on post-socialist regime and regional politics. His articles have appeared in various international peer-reviewed journals. He is currently a visiting Scholar at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, EUI.

Leen Verbeek

Leen Verbeek is vice-President of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe. He has been King’s Commissioner for the province of Flevoland, the Netherlands, since 2008. Prior to that, he has served from 2003 to 2008 as mayor of Purmerend. He attended the Academy for Educational Labour in Baarn and started his political career through political institutions, ending up as an alderman in Houten. Mr Verbeek is co-founder and chairperson of the International Tree Fund, which carries out rural projects in Latin America.

Paolo Gentiloni

Paolo Gentiloni is the Italian Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. After becoming a Member of Parliament in 2001, he held the roles of Chairman of the Broadcasting Services Watchdog Committee, Minister for Communications and member of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs. Previously he was the spokesperson for the Mayor of Rome and was Jubilee and Tourism Councillor in the Rome City Council. He is one of the founding members of the Democratic Party and a professional Journalist with a degree in political sciences.
