Ahmed Aboutaleb
Ahmed Aboutaleb has been the Mayor of Rotterdam since January 2009. Formerly he was State Secretary for Social Affairs and Employment and alderman for Work and Income, Education, Youth, Diversity and Urban Policy in the Amsterdam’s municipal executive body. From 2002 to 2004 he was Director of the Social, Economic and Cultural Development Sector of the municipality of Amsterdam and from 1998 to 2002 he directed the FORUM – Istitute for Multicultural Development. He has also taken office as Member of the Supervisory Board of the Mondriaan Education Group in The Hague.
