Soros, GeorgeGeorge Soros is the Chairman of the Open Society Foundations. He is an investor, a philanthropist and Chairman and funder of Soros Fund Management. After graduating from the London School of Economics in 1952, he worked as a financial analyst and trader in New York. During this period he developed the “theory of reflexivity”, a set of ideas that seeks to explain how a feedback mechanism can skew how participants in a market value assets on that market. From 1963 to 1973 he was the vice-president at the investment bank Arnhold and S. Bleichroeder. He is a long-time supporter of progressive-liberal political causes and an important donor to causes related to human rights, public health and education.
