Panel 1 – The Eurozone Crisis and EU Institutions: What is the Optimal Design?

Fulvio Conti currently service as Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Enel SpA, Italy’s largest power company, a position he has held since May 2005. From 1999 until his appointment as CEO and General Manager, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Enel. Mr. Conti has a financial career spanning over 40 years, and has held the role of Chief Financial Officer for various private and government‐owned entities in Italy. In April 2006, Mr. Conti was appointed to the Board of Barclays PLC/Barclays Bank PLC as a non‐executive director. In October 2011, Mr. Conti was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Italian Institute of Technology. Mr. Conti is President of Eurelectric and sits on the board of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia. In May 2009 he was appointed “Cavaliere del Lavoro” of the Italian Republic and in December of the same year he became “Officier de la Légion d’Honneur” of the French Republic. He serves as a member of the Audit Committee and Finance Committee of AON Board of Directors. In October 2011 Mr. Conti was appointed to the Board of Italian Institute of Technology and in March 2012 to the Board of RCS Mediagroup.
